Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in film and TV is well known for movies like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole one child to Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into showbiz early and landed up playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she was just 16. The critically acclaimed character she played in the television movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went further to take on other memorable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge on Downfall. This film won an Oscar and won critical acclaim. The other Oscar nominated movies featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra participated in several well-known international and national projects throughout the years. For instance, the British biographical documentary Control the Greek-language dramatic The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon include among them. She was also on the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and was also a juror at Cannes Film Festival.
