Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, is an American actress. She is famous for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively in ABC's Lost television series. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington from Ohio dropped out high school and moved in Los Angeles after her divorced parents. She landed her debut role, as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001 despite struggling financially. Her performance in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. film Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the lead actor in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. After leaving the show, Grace was keen to work more prominently in film having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She has appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club both in 2007 as well as in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised her role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised the role as Shannon in two more episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. She was in 2013 for the sixth season of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's a star-gazer and socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. As a part of the Gyllenhaal Family, she's the younger sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began when she was a teenager, playing small appearances in his films. She also appeared together with her brother in popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for an Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) and the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two films received acclaim from critics. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). She was nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). The roles she played in subsequent films include Nanny McPhee as well as The Big Bang and Hysteria. She also appeared as a Secret Service Agent in White House Down, an action-packed thriller released in 2013, as well as a singer as Frank (2014), a musician Frank (2014), and her role as the main character for the lead role in The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama released in the year 2018. Gyllenhaal debuted as a writer and director in 2021, with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter. For this film she was awarded the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
